Precast Concrete Cladding
There are numerous reasons that you could require precast concrete cladding in a portal framed building. As a cost-effective alternative to block work, to act as a flood defence wall, provide fire protection or if there is a chance of vehicle impact from plant. Depending on the design criteria, our prestressed panels, which are available in a range of thicknesses, could be a viable solution.
If a perimeter wall is required to provide low level security and a more robust alterative to steel cladding is needed. Or for aesthetics to blend into surrounding buildings if you are in an agricultural environment, then the 100mm thick panels would be a good option. For the creation of flood walling or to resists accidental impact from machinery, the 150mm panel have good load bearing capacity. If the building will be used for the storage of materials, such as grain or salt or for longer spans between steels, the 180mm panels are capable of taking higher loads. These panels would also be better suited for fire protection and separation.
The 280mm thick panel, is the strongest in the range and has the highest sheer capacity and durability. These panels can be used as a ground beam around the base of your building before pouring the floor slab. Prestressed panels are probably the most common wall system used for precast concrete cladding. However, the bolt-down, modular and heavy-duty retaining wall systems are also viable alternatives to most cladding systems.
