Everything you need and want to know about concrete ballast blocks

Whether installed on a permanent basis as a means to support installations such as fencing, scaffolding or hoarding or as a temporary solution for short-term projects (event marquees, for example). Concrete ballast blocks are a reliable, durable and long-lasting product that works to support and stabilise sites of various degrees.

At JP Concrete, we offer concrete ballast weights or kentledge blocks in a wide range of weights and dimensions, as well as custom sizes to make sure you walk away with the perfect concrete ballast block.

UK construction companies are many and varied, but more than 20 years of experience, friendly service and unrivalled commitment to great value and sustainability mean our concrete ballast block products stand out from those offered by our competitors.

Manufactured from freeze thaw-resistant concrete with chamfered edges to ensure a long lifespan, all of our concrete ballast blocks are high quality, sustainable, reliable, strong and built to last and go the distance. At JP Concrete, we can supply stainless steel fittings up to grade 316, enabling our concrete ballast blocks to withstand the harshest of environments.

Our standard dimensions and ability to supply custom sizes to perfectly suit your specific requirements mean that each of our customers walks away with the perfect concrete ballast block to fit their project.

How are concrete ballast blocks supplied?

We supply a range of standard concrete ballast blocks in weights of 500kg, 1000kg, 2400kg, and 5760kg. Our standard sizes and weights are often already in stock and therefore can be delivered fast (our standard delivery time is 2-3 days but we are sometimes able to deliver these units the very next day).

If you require different weights or sizes to our standard blocks, we will work to manufacture and deliver tailored blocks to specifically suit your project with the option of adding customised features including cast-in holes, eye bolts, Halfen channels and additional lifting points.

If you’re looking for concrete ballast blocks only on a temporary basis, we also offer the option of hiring concrete ballast blocks, supplying lifting loops with the units to ensure a quick and easy installation for your short-term project.

To hire, we offer a range of standard blocks up to 5760kg including marquee weights, kentledge blocks and kelley blocks, but again can manufacture and supply the blocks to meet your exact weight and size requirements.

Is installation assistance offered with concrete ballast blocks?

As with all of our products, we offer a full installation service that operates throughout the UK. Our experienced team of installers are committed to injury and incident-free working and are here to help you all the way, from the design process through to the lifting method.

We can deliver your concrete ballast blocks either on a craned vehicle (where we offload and place the units for you) or shipped on a flatbed vehicle.

A high-quality installation service that adheres to our exceptionally high standards of health and safety is our top priority and we work hard to ensure that our products are delivered on time and on budget.

Each of our operatives is CPCS and CSCS qualified and hold CCNSG (Client Contractor National Safety Group) Safety passports. Many are also NVQ qualified.

Regardless of the block weight you require or the machinery you already have on site, we are committed to offering the installation support and assistance you need throughout the entire process.
