We worked with Beeswax Dyson Farming, to design and supply a new silage clamp system for their Anaerobic Digestion plant in Lincolnshire. We discussed various options for the precast concrete silage clamp walls, as there was going to be different crops stored in the clamp, a central dividing wall was included in the design.

3m high Agri T walls & earth bank retaining walls were used for this project. The solution was to grade the existing earth banks on the outer walls of the clamp to support new 3m high precast earth bank retaining walls. As there would be different crops being stored in the clamp, they also required a central dividing wall, which was constructed using the Agri T walls.

The Agri T Retaining walls are designed to meet the high demands of the Agricultural, Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas industries. Their ability to retain both sides, makes them ideal dividing walls when creating multiple silage clamps.

Various options for constructing the walls were discussed with them and during the consultation period we provided pricing options and technical data on a selection of precast retaining walls. The decision was, to use the existing earth banks on the outer walls of the clamp to provide a base to form new 3m high precast earth bank retaining walls. As there would be various crops being stored in the clamp they would also require a central dividing wall, constructed using the Agri T walls.
As the installation of the earth bank walls is fairly labour intensive and they have their own team of contractors they decided to install these themselves. We would supply the T-shaped agri walls & earth clamp walls and provide the crane to install the 3m high, 5.6T dividing T-wall sections. We also supplied the precast seating channels, tie bars, mastic and bitumen sealant for the joints between the precast units; transport was arranged and deliveries made at the clients convenience.
