Concrete Panels
Prestressed concrete panels are an extremely versatile precast concrete product and can be installed horizontally, between steel columns or as a vertical cantilever wall. The prestressed concrete panels have been designed to BS8110, part 1 and are suitable for a variety of different applications including; agricultural and industrial buildings, livestock housing, grain stores, silage clamps, slurry stores, earth retention, waste transfer stations, recycling storage bays and flood defence walls.

Standard Panel Thicknesses - 101mm (4inch), 150mm (6 inch) and 180mm (7 inches).

Standard Panel Heights - 500mm, 1000mm, 1200mm and 1500mm.

Panels are custom made to your required length (standard lengths are 4572mm (15 feet) and 6096mm (20 feet).
Common lengths for the prestressed concrete panels for use in agricultural buildings are; 15 foot and 20 foot however panels can be custom made to any required length up to around 6.5 metres. The precast concrete panels are tongue and groove fitting on the top and bottom edges, this enables fast construction of multiple panels and ensures a strong, clean finish. In terms of thickness, 101mm panels are normally used for livestock buildings where there will be little or no pressure applied to the panels. 150mm prestressed panels are normally used for retaining, whether this be in a grain store, slurry store, waste transfer station, silage clamp, or general retaining wall. Where the pressures become excessive a 180mm concrete panel maybe required, please ask if you are unsure.
The panels are manufactured using 9.3mm diameter steel strand which is run through the bed and put under tension during the casting process. The concrete mix is typically a C50/C60 which is poured into the bed, providing a 30mm covering the strand which is sufficient for 'very servere' exposure. Once the concrete panel has cured the ends of the strand is then cut leaving the tensioned strand running through the panel - this is what gives the concrete panel it's strength.
Concrete panels are supplied with the necessary galvanized steel fixing bolts and plates, sealant is also suppled with the 150mm and 180mm panels, resulting in no hidden costs, or need to source additional materials. We can also supply you with lifting shackles to manoeuvre the panels if required.
