Our standard precast retaining wall units are suitable in many circumstances however some situations require a higher specification. The heavy duty retaining wall has been designed to go up to 4000mm in height and is ideal for push walls or where there are excessive loads and additional surcharges. The heavy duty units can be manufactured with a variety of different reinforcement patterns in order to meet site specific requirements. The walls are used in variety of applications and can provide a much more economical solution to casting a wall on site.
The heavy duty retaining wall units are designed to BS 8110-1:1997 and are manufactured using a concrete mix grade of C40/C50. Standard cover to reinforcement is 30mm, suitable for ‘very severe’ exposure. The precast units are available in the following standard heights; however it is possible to manufacture the units at any height within these sizes.
Please note: all weights are aproximate and will depend on the reinforcement and design.

Standard units are manufactured with reinforcement bar protruding from the toe of the unit which is then tied into a concrete foundation slab. Once the standard units are installed, the toe of the unit is incorporated into the concrete slab which means there is no toe protruding above floor level; ideal if machinery needs to come in and out. Where required we can supply a bolt down version of the heavy duty unit. This is installed by fixing the units onto a reinforced concrete base, using a resin and steel rod anchor system. Corner detail can be designed and supplied if required.
