The bolt down L-shaped concrete retaining wall units are a versatile product which is ideal for retaining a wide range of materials. Some examples of the type of application they are used for are; silage clamps, slurry stores, boundary walls, aggregate bays, earth retention walls, culverts, salt storage barns, waste & recycling stations and flood defence walls.
The units are quick to install and are secured by bolting to a concrete foundation slab. They require no additional fixing or support which makes them an ideal solution if there is no framework in place. We also supply cast-in retaining wall units which can be cast into a new concrete floor slab. These units are manufactured with reinforcement bars protruding from the end of the foot for tying into the reinforcement of a foundation slab, or concrete floor.
The precast concrete retaining wall units are designed to BS 8110-1:1997 and are manufactured using a concrete mix grade of C40/C50. Standard cover to reinforcement is 30mm, suitable for ‘very severe’ exposure. The units are designed to retain adequately drained material with a density of 18Kn/m³ on one or both sides, and depending on the height of the unit, an additional surcharge can be applied; please ask for specific loading details.
The precast units are available in the following standard heights; however it is possible to manufacture the retaining wall units at any height within these sizes. 90º Corner units are also available for all heights, which makes creating bays very simple.

The bolt down retaining wall units are installed by positioning on a reinforced concrete base, the units are then levelled and fixed into position using a resin and steel rod anchor system. We can supply fixing kits for the bolt down units; a standard kit comprises of; high performance concrete resin, resin application gun, steel bolts, nuts and washers.
